A background in elite sport, put to work on something quieter: helping everyday people build a plan they can actually stick to.
Most of Paul’s clients don’t come from a gym background. Plenty haven’t set foot in one in years, or ever. What they get from him isn’t a shouting match with a whiteboard: it’s a calm, structured plan built around the life they actually have, plus someone checking in every week to make sure it’s still working. That combination of structure without intimidation is what keeps people showing up.
The coaching itself is backed by a Sports Coaching Science degree from South Africa (internationally accredited), certification through USA Swimming, and an ETA fitness certificate in personal training. From 4 September 2026 he’ll also be working through NASM certification, one more layer on a foundation that was already built for this.
Before any of that, Paul was the athlete being coached. Competitive swimming and water polo through his junior years, then professional rugby. Years of being pushed, corrected and rebuilt by other people’s programmes taught him exactly what makes a plan work, and what makes someone quit. When his playing days wound down, coaching athletes felt like the obvious next step. Coaching everyday people turned out to be the one that mattered more.
“I’ve been coached by some serious people, under serious pressure. The thing that actually changes someone’s fitness isn’t intensity: it’s whether they trust the person holding the plan. That’s what I try to be for people, first.”

Whatever the goal, these stay the same for every client.
Whatever shape you’re in when you start, that’s the starting point. No lectures, no eye-rolls, no gym-bro energy.
Work, kids, travel, bad weeks: the plan bends around your life, not the other way round.
A regular check-in that catches slips early and keeps momentum going, even when motivation doesn’t.
If a goal or timeline isn’t realistic, Paul will say so, and help you set one that actually is.
“I'd tried every gym in town and hated all of them. Paul's approach was completely different. I never felt judged, just supported. Eight kilos down and I actually enjoy training now.”
“As someone who works full-time with a hectic schedule, I needed a programme that fit my life, not the other way around. The nutrition plan alone was worth every cent: simple, flexible, and it actually worked.”
Start with a free, no-pressure consultation. Paul will tell you honestly whether he can help.
